Frequently asked questions
Is the scan really free?
Yes. Scanning one page and seeing the full results — score, risk level, issue counts, and sample findings — costs nothing and doesn't require an email address.
Do I legally need to comply?
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) and Germany's implementing law (BFSG) apply to many online shops and digital services as of June 2025, and fines of up to €100,000 and formal warnings (Abmahnungen) are provided for under German law. Whether your specific site is in scope depends on details we can't assess automatically — a scan is a good place to start either way.
What does the scan cover?
We check your page against the roughly one-third of WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA success criteria that can be tested automatically — things like contrast, alt text, form labels, and keyboard access.
What doesn't it cover?
Anything that needs human judgment: whether alt text actually makes sense, whether the reading order is logical, or whether the writing itself is plain language.
What's in the paid report?
Every finding we detect, with its exact location on the page, a plain-language fix for each one, and a priority order by severity and effort — as a downloadable PDF.
What happens to my data?
We never publish your scan results. Your data is processed and stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
